Refund Policy

Transparent and fair refund terms for all KitnaTax services.

At KitnaTax, we are committed to delivering high-quality CA-assisted services. We understand that situations may arise where a refund is needed. This policy outlines clearly when refunds are applicable and how to request them.

1Refund Eligibility Overview

✅ Eligible for Refund
  • ITR not yet filed & no work started
  • Duplicate payment made
  • Wrong plan purchased by mistake
  • Technical error in payment
  • KitnaTax unable to deliver service
  • Service cancelled by KitnaTax
❌ Not Eligible for Refund
  • ITR already filed & acknowledged
  • Draft computation shared & approved
  • Client provided incorrect documents
  • Change of mind after work started
  • Tax demand due to client error
  • Delay caused by client response

2Full Refund — 100%

You are entitled to a full 100% refund in the following situations:

  • You cancel within 24 hours of purchase and no work has been started by the CA
  • A duplicate payment was made due to a technical error
  • KitnaTax is unable to assign a CA to your case within 48 hours
  • The service you purchased is not applicable to your income type (we will also recommend the correct plan)
  • KitnaTax cancels or discontinues the service
✅ Full refunds are processed within 5–7 working days to the original payment method.

3Partial Refund — 50%

A 50% partial refund may be applicable in the following situations:

  • You request cancellation after CA is assigned but before draft computation is shared
  • You purchased a higher-value plan but your income only requires a lower plan — difference may be refunded or adjusted

Partial refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are at the discretion of KitnaTax management.

4No Refund Situations

Refunds will NOT be provided in the following circumstances:

  • The ITR has already been successfully filed and ITR-V acknowledgement has been issued
  • The draft computation has been shared and approved by the client
  • The client provided incorrect, incomplete, or fraudulent documents causing errors
  • The client failed to respond to CA queries within 15 days, causing the service to lapse
  • Any income tax demand, penalty, or notice arises due to the client's own information errors
  • The client changes their mind after work has commenced
  • Dissatisfaction with the tax liability computed — the tax is determined by law, not by KitnaTax
⚠️ Please note: The amount of tax payable is determined by the Income Tax Act, 1961 and cannot be altered. We cannot provide refunds for tax outcomes that are legally correct but unfavorable.

5Free Revision Policy

Instead of a refund, KitnaTax offers a free revision in the following cases:

  • Any computational error attributable to our CA will be corrected free of charge
  • If a deduction was missed due to our oversight, we will file a revised return at no cost
  • One free revision is included with all plans (Plans 2–6 include two revisions)
✅ We stand behind our work. If we make an error, we fix it — free of charge, no questions asked.

6How to Request a Refund

Follow these steps to request a refund:

Send an email to support@kitnatax.com with subject: "Refund Request – [Your Order ID]"

Include Required Details
Your full name, registered email, Order ID, reason for refund request, and bank account details (if different from payment source)

Review by Team
Our team will review your request within 2 working days and communicate the decision via email

Refund Processing
Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method within 5–7 working days. Bank processing time may vary.

7GST on Refunds

Please note that GST charged on the original transaction is non-refundable as it has been deposited with the Government. Refunds will be processed for the base service amount only.

8Cancellation by KitnaTax

KitnaTax reserves the right to cancel a service order in the following situations:

  • Discovery of fraudulent, forged, or misrepresented documents
  • Client engaging in prohibited activities as defined in our Terms & Conditions
  • Inability to verify client identity or documents
  • Force majeure events beyond our control

In case of cancellation by KitnaTax for reasons not attributable to the client, a full refund will be processed within 5–7 working days.

9Disputes & Escalation

If you are unsatisfied with the refund decision:

  • Email our Grievance Officer at support@kitnatax.com with subject "Refund Dispute"
  • We will review and respond within 10 working days
  • Unresolved disputes will be handled as per our Terms & Conditions dispute resolution process
